Edelman is an international public relations firm found in Chicago in 1952 with over 5,000 employees worldwide, and the "Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa" team has 1,500 employees in 24 offices across 13 countries.  Edelman Hong Kong office expanded rapidly in recent years with services covering the new sectors in technology, digital communications, and social media.

A:I was commissioned to resolve the office expansion needs and to develop a flexible and multi-functional work area that could serve as work space for individuals, think tank for brainstorming and collaboration, and a make-shift studio/production area. The design intent is an attempt to change the company's current work culture to boost creativity, efficiency and productivity. Instead of "cubicles" or "workstations", a long working table over 13meter serves as the dominant furniture in the new Studio Area between the glass wall for writing and cork boards for pin ups, and a custom "sketch table" is provided with roll of paper as the writing surface for team to share ideas freely during meeting.  We maximize millwork prefabrication in factories and minimize on-site disruption to the operating office. In addition, all new furniture could be dissembled and reassemble for future installation and use, an attempt to minimize material and resources wastage.
